1. Can the Kuat Piston ION carry regular (non-electric) bikes?
Absolutely. The 100 lbs per tray capacity is a ceiling, not a requirement. The ION handles road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and kids’ bikes with wheel sizes down to 18″ just as well as it handles e-bikes. It’s purpose-built for heavy e-bikes but works with virtually any ride.
2. What’s the difference between the three variants — without lights, with lights, and with lights + license plate mount?

3. Is the Piston ION compatible with my RV?
Yes — but only with a chassis-mounted 2″ hitch receiver. Bumper-mounted hitches are not supported. Capacity drops to 80 lbs per tray on an RV hitch. 4. How does the aluminium loading ramp work?
The ramp hooks onto the ION tire arm joints and telescopes to the length you need. Ride or wheel your e-bike up the ramp onto the tray, position the wheel in the chock, and strap it down. When you’re done, the ramp detaches and stows in your boot or truck bed — it doesn’t stay permanently on the rack. 5. Does the Foot Pedal Lock have to be used every single time?
Yes — this is non-negotiable. The Foot Pedal Lock must be fully engaged (knob turned clockwise, no red showing) every time the rack is in use. It’s a safety mechanism, and failure to engage it properly can void your No Worries Limited Warranty. It takes two seconds and becomes second nature after a couple of trips.
